When we onboard a new client and begin the process of turning their dream into reality, we use the Double Diamond Design process, also known as the 4D Design Process. The 4 Phases
DISCOVERY
We want to hear your story and discover what drives your passion. This phase starts with a non-formal meeting at one of our local coffee shops or bakeries, where we can get to know each other, and to see how we can help each other. Once we realize which site package best fits your needs, we provide a well-detailed quote highlighting all the features, a preliminary sitemap, any additional options, and the payment terms. For payment terms, we work on a 50/50 plan. 50% down at the beginning of the project, and the residual 50% will be due prior to the site going public. These terms work well for both the client and us. The 50% down payment forms the commitment, and the remaing 50% provides insurance to the customer that their new site will be exactly what they were expecting! We don't get paid otherwise!
DEFINE
Once a quote has been approved, and we've received payment, we take what we've quoted and first create a Customer Site Action Item List. With the information e want to hear your story and discover what drives your passion. Once we receive client approval and the 50% down payment, we provide the client with an Action Item List tailored to their site (see example below). The list helps the client gather the information we need, and it also serves as a checklist to track what they've gathered. It's preferred that we get all the content and information all at once. This will allow us to complete the site as efficiently as possible. However, we know this is not always possible.
