When we onboard a new client and begin the dream-to-reality conversion, we use the Double Diamond Design process, also known as the 4D Design Process. The 4 Phases
DISCOVERY
We want to hear your story and discover what drives your passion. This phase starts with a non-formal meeting at one of our local coffee shops or bakeries, where we can get to know each other, and to see how we can help each other. Once we realize which site package best fits your needs, we provide a well-detailed quote highlighting all the features, a preliminary sitemap, any additional options, and the payment terms. For payment terms, we work on a 50/50 plan. 50% down at the beginning of the project, and the residual 50% will be due prior to the site going public. These terms work well for both the client and us. The 50% down payment forms the commitment, and the remaing 50% provides insurance to the customer that their new site will be exactly what they were expecting! We don't get paid otherwise!
DEFINE
Once a quote has been approved and we've received payment, we will provide you with a Customer Site Action Item List. For example, it will include tasks such as media, photos, customer reviews, business competitor list, examples of other websites that you've seen that you like, your logo, you know, all the professional business stuff. The sooner we acquire this information, the sooner your site will be online. The DEFINE stage is where most of the creative juices come out, and where the frontend (face)of the website starts to come to life.
DEVELOP
At this stage, we typically have everything we need. It's an exciting stage, layouts are ironed out, and everything starts falling into place. There will be a lot of back-and-forth emails between us, revisions will happen, change this - change that, and it's all expected and needed. We want you to be completely satisfied. This is also where all the backend work happens, to include effect organic page descriptions, SEO, alt-tags, internal link development, and strategic key phrasing.
DEPLOYMENT (aka DELIVER)
When we hit this stage, we are testing everything. How does the site look on all major browsers and resolutions? How is the responsiveness behaving on desktop and mobile devices? Are the contact form notifications coming into your inbox? We have a lengthy quality control checklist that we employ before ever going public. When we say your site is ready for the big time, we mean it. And of course it doesn't end there, we will be heavily monitoring the first 3 months of your site, for proper page indexing, traffic, which pages are performing better than others, etc. From there, we'll be right here when you need us. We have excellent customer support, and of course, the FREE maintenance is always...FREE!
